Notifications and Events

There are five events that trigger notifications:

1. When opportunities you are following are modified. When you follow an opportunity, either via the Follow button or when you are automatically subscribed due to you being assigned an opportunity, any modifications to that particular opportunity (questions and answers posted, changes in BOM or SOW, time extensions, cancellations, etc.) will trigger this notification. This lets you know that there has been a change, and you should go to the opportunity to see what it is and if any action is needed.

2. When opportunities you are following are assigned. When someone assigns you to work an opportunity or you assign yourself and others, you are automatically subscribed to that opportunity (if you have not yet subscribed) and a notification is sent to all subscribed except the initiator of the action. This lets you know that there is an opportunity that you need to start looking at and potentially work on. A link in the notification will take you to the newly assigned opportunity.

3. When opportunities you are following have new comments. After you have been assigned an opportunity to work, all subscribed can add comments to that opportunity in the Conversation section of Govly. Typically, these comments have to do with pricing, quoting, statements of work, and so on. Upon notification of a new comment (that you did not initiate yourself), use the link to take you to the Conversation section so you can review the new comment.

4. When opportunities you are following to have a change in the pipeline stage. Pipeline stages can be found under Details or Conversation. If anyone assigned or subscribed to an opportunity makes a change to the pipeline, a notification event is triggered to all subscribers except the person who made the pipeline change. Here are the five pipeline stages that can trigger notifications:

5. When you have a new saved search match on an opportunity. When you have a saved search (or are subscribed to a saved search) and there is a keyword or keywords match that search a notification will be triggered. As with all notifications, they may be sent to you instantly, in an hourly or daily digest, or not at all. In the case of instant notification for this type, the email will contain a link back to Govly as well as the full text of the opportunity and all attachments.

6. When an RFQ you are assigned to is nearing due date and time and has not been submitted. This is an automatic notification that is triggered when an opportunity you have been assigned is within 72 hours of expiration. These are added to the hourly or daily notifications digest.

This notification is not configurable to “instant” like the other five.

One final note on Notifications. You will not receive notifications for events that you trigger yourself. In other words, if you are the one changing a pipeline stage, you will not be notified of the change. If someone other than you that is subscribed or assigned to an opportunity makes a change, you will receive the notification but the person who made the change will not.
